20 Cheshvan - Shabbat, October, 31st.

Shabbat, October 31st, is Chof (the 20th of) Cheshvan. It is the birthday of Rabbi Sholom DovBer, the fifth Rebbe of Chabad, in 1860. Among his many accomplishments, the Rebbe Rashab, as he is known, founded the Lubavitcher Yeshivah, Tomchei Temimim. In a historic talk on the last day of Pesach, 1906, the Rebbe Rashab said that the students of his Yeshivah are like the soldiers of King David’s army. Just as soldiers fight for their king, so too will the students of Tomchei Temimim dedicate themselves to Moshiach (who is a descendant of King David) and do everything in their power to bring the final redemption. For much more about the Rebbe Rashab, see here.
